This project has been made possible by the work and support of a range of individuals and institutions. The original attempt at building a database such as this was begun at the Centre for the Study of Elections, University of Waterloo. The untimely death of its Director, Dr John Wilson, and the retirement of its final Director Dr. Robert Williams, led to data collected there being transferred to Dr. Anthony Sayers at the University of Calgary. At Calgary, the Institute for Advanced Policy Research, the Faculty of Social Science (now Arts) and the Department of Political Science all lent support to the project. Many students, research assistants, Social Science computer staff, and contractors have provided a range of critical services that have allowed the project to proceed. Fergus Raphael and his staff at Tangle Media developed the final database and website, based in part on earlier work by Jason Reid, Faculty of Arts Web Administrator.
