Election Notes
Invalid votes : Valid ballots are those that are clearly marked for one candidate in accordance with Section 111 of the Election Act.
Invalid votes : Rejected ballots are those not counted because the elector's intent was unclear, or because no candidates or more than one candidate was selected, or because readily identifying marks were added.
Invalid votes : A spoiled ballot is one that was marked incorrectly by an elector, who then obtained a replacement ballot from the deputy returning officer. Spoiled ballots are not placed in the ballot box for counting.
Elections Canada Electoral District Number : A declined ballot is one that was returned by an elector, who chose not to vote for any candidate listed on the ballot.
Note : For the entire election, Invalid Votes/Ballots fields, as well as Ballots Cast field, were calculated using the following formulas:(Invalid Votes) = (((Percentage of Voter Turnout)/100)*(Number of Electors)) - (Valid Votes)
(Ballots Cast) = (Invalid Votes) plus (Valid Votes)
Due to rounding of Percentage of Voter Turnout in the original data, the actual number of Invalid Votes/Ballots might differ from the calculated one. The number of Invalid Votes includes rejected and declined ballots.
